Frame-To-Frame
Door SLAM!
Vending ATTACK!
Why do the objects lend themselves to frame-to-frame?
In my outdoor urban area it can be difficult to find objects that hit that frame-to-frame animation. Focusing on things in the environment that would typically move, but adding in some cartoonish anticipation and squash and stretch to average movements expanded both the creativity of the world and the vibrancy of the animations.
What was tricky?
It was tricky to keep all of the details straight. When more details were added, the onion skinning became more muddled and it became more difficult to accurately draw the next frame, but utilizing the transformation tool on my software, I was able to keep a significant portion of the details intact.
What worked well?
I really liked my secondary animation and smear frames in this one. I also benefitted a lot from doing the fully colored model on the first frame, and switching to just linework for the following frames until i was satisfied with the motion and added the colors back in.
What specific techniques did you use?
I used anticipation, squash and stretch, smear frames, secondary animation, and my software's transformation tools.
